Back to UK
On Saturday we headed back to UK where we will be based for rest of trip. Was so looking forward to hearing the English spoken word and seeing the English written signs but we headed to Wales instead. They seem to have a language of there own and the road signs are in Welsh at the top and English at the bottom so you have probably broken the rules by the time you get to that.
We really like Wales it has a rugged natural beauty about it and travelling through the mountain range to Aberystwth was really nice. Typical though as soon as we get near the beach the weather changes to cool and rain. The beaches at Aberystwth are gravel and look very brown and dreary in this weather. Climbed up Constitution Hill to see the Camera Obscura that Trefor had recommended seeing but unfortunately couldn't see much due to low cloud and showers. Next day headed to Caernarfon which is a medevial town on the world heritage listing as the castle built in 12th century and walls surrounding towns are the only remaining example of this in UK. Today the weather has improved 22c so we went for scenic drive to Isle of Anglesey and visited Llanfairpwllgwngllgogerychwyrndrobwillantysiliogogogoch - which I hadn't been to since I was about 3 years old. Took a scenic drive from there around Angelsey and walked across a cob to check out a lake and estuary, also a beach walk at Aberfray - proper sandy beach with lots of dunes. Called at Rhosneigr where the beach was sandy with rocky outcrops and people wind surfing. We came back via the Menai Bridge where there were really magnificent views and blue green colours of the water between the Isle and mainland.
Heading off to Beatles land tomorrow to check out the Merseyside, Liverpool.
By the way forgot to mention that in Belgium I discovered Beer so have been having a few odd pints or at least half pints. Need to do a lot of walking to ensure that they don't increase the waistline.
